Dear Council Candidate:
The mission of The Community Foundation is improve the quality of life in Boulder County now and forever, and to build a culture of giving.
In fulfilling that mission, we have compiled research on quality of life indicators in Boulder County for the past 12 years and have made that information available broadly throughout the community in our "Trends" report.
The report, published biannually and updated on the web continuously, provides community leaders a source of important information about changing demographics and emerging trends throughout Boulder County, especially in the areas in which we fund---the arts, education, the environment, health and human services and civic engagement. You can find the latest information at www.commfound.org/trends and we hope you will find it useful. Look for the new report to be released in October.
The Human Services Alliance's mission is to improve the quality of life in Boulder County by enhancing the competency and collaboration of human service agencies, and to educate and influence the public and policy makers on matters that impact the availability and delivery of human services. Our membership includes over 27 nonprofits serving thousands and community members.
While neither of our groups endorse nor support any particular candidate, we do make available the information that candidates supply to us regarding their view about the role of nonprofits in the community. I know that you receive many questionnaires and have many demands on your time during this hectic campaign season, but I hope you will take a few minutes to participate in a video interview that we will post on the Community Foundation website (www.commfound.org) and make available for public viewing.
This will be a "virtual candidate forum." From our "Trends" data, we know that in Boulder County only 4% of residents have no access to the Internet. We hope to take advantage of this high percentage of wired residents to provide online interviews with the candidates. Your face and your views will be available 24/7! Democracy can only work when good people are willing to step forward and participate. Thanks for your willingness to take part!
Lucie Zikova, a volunteer with The Community Foundation, will be contacting you soon to set up a time for your "screening". Please feel free to contact us if you have questions. Thanks again.
Sincerely,
Josie Heath, Jane McConnell, Suzanne Crawford
