I did this about a year ago and figured it would be fun to do it again. I sucked out all the comments, totalled the number by each person, dumped it into Excel, and created a pie chart showing the distribution of comments by person. Download Camera_Stats
I went to the News page and grabbed the 2 stories with the most comments which were the Midyette trial verdict and Ayers coming to visit CU. I also went to the letters to the editor page and grabbed the last 3 days with over 200 comments.
It looks like most days the comments are a conversation between 3 - 5 people. For letters to the editor just 2 people are over ¼ of the comments and 5 people are over ½ of the comments. Dr_Johnson, bond, qmmckenna, & MaryWanna must spend the entire day at their computer typing comments in.
The news stories are better - the Ayers one actually had a pretty spread out set of commenters and the Midyette story was not as bad as the letters ones, but still pretty much dominated by a few voices. So without further comment, here are the results.
