Ok, in real estate the three most important things are location, location, location. When running for city council the real key is who PLAN - Boulder endorses. That's who always wins (why do we even bother counting the ballots since they seem to decide 100% of the time).
However... PLAN - Boulder does seem to have strict residency requirements so lets take a look at where the candidates and council members live. The council members are in blue and the candidates are in red. Click here for the map.
The west of 28th street requirement still holds 100%. The north of Baseline rule seems to have been relaxed slightly. But things do not look good for the 3 west of 28th and the one way south. It's interesting that Ken Wilson, the anointed candidate, is well within the standard area for council-member residences.
And for something cool, you can use the satellite view to zoom in and see each candidate's house. If you zoom in on Richard Polk's there are a bunch of leafy bushes growing in the back yard (just kidding). You can also get a street view of Shaun McGrath's house - which I think is a little creepy (not Shaun's house - the fact that anyone can see street level shots).
So, any bets as to the odds of someone living outside the PLAN - Boulder required residency area winning?
